The case for a second asset in the same corridor

Frontera is deliberately located in the same wind corridor as Olmos Wind, in Olmos, Lambayeque. Concentrating two assets in one resource area is a development strategy rather than a coincidence.

The reason is that most of the expensive, slow work of developing a project in a new area is not repeated for the second asset. Wind measurement campaigns, environmental baselines, land and community relationships, an understanding of the local grid and of the permitting path. All of it carries over. A second project in a known corridor is developed faster, at lower cost and with better information than a first project in an unknown one.

Where it is in the cycle

Frontera is at an earlier stage than Olmos Wind. In practical terms, early development is the phase in which the fundamentals are established and de-risked: securing site control, characterising the resource with on-site measurement, opening the interconnection process and advancing environmental and sectoral permitting.

The asset targets Ready-to-Build in 2028. Together with Olmos Wind it represents roughly 270 MW of wind capacity in a single corridor within a pipeline the group has publicly framed at more than 870 MW, with an ambition of over 2 GW across Latin America by 2030.

Platform capability behind it

Development is carried out by ZFC Energy Group, with construction and operating capability held inside the group through Fitcon Energy. ZFC operates as a long-term owner with permanent capital and no fixed exit horizon.
